Can you help me connect local tools?

Yes. The Pi kernel handles shell tools and providers out of the box. I can also add Agent Mode for visual steps, connect MCP servers, or load Extensions from Settings.

Aether brings a ChatGPT-inspired conversation surface to Android with onboarding, model setup, attachments, message actions, streaming responses, and mobile-first controls shaped in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

Which engine runs the agent on-device?

Aether uses the mature Pi harness kernel — lightweight, efficient, and compatible with a wide range of model providers. Shell tools run through the built-in runtime; Termux is optional.

When command-line tools are not enough, Agent Mode can launch a virtual display and drive visual actions such as opening apps, tapping, typing, swiping, and capturing screenshots.

Aether supports OpenAI Responses, OpenAI-compatible providers, Anthropic Messages, and Vertex Express, then keeps local access, Tavily search, Skills, MCP, and Extensions setup in clear follow-up steps. Termux remains optional for deeper host control.
